AI-assisted family history research

Find your people, even when the records disagree.

Names get misspelled. Ages drift. Places change their names and their borders. MyGenealogy.AI is a research tool we're building to help you search through that mess, recognize the same person across different records, and work out how your family connects.

Honest status: it's in development. There's nothing to sign up for and no launch date yet.

Record matching

Two records. One person? Show your work.

The hard part of family history is rarely finding a record. It's knowing whether two records describe the same person. Here's the kind of reasoning we want the tool to lay out for you.

Possible match

4 details agree. 1 to check.

  • Weber / Webber. A common spelling variant.
  • Age 28 in 1880, 19 in 1871. Both point to about 1852.
  • Bavaria / Bayern. Same place, two languages.
  • Milwaukee. Destination matches residence.
  • Laborer, then cooper. Plausible, but worth a closer look.

What we're building

Research help for the stuck parts.

  1. Smarter record searches

Searches that expect the mess: spelling variants, transcription errors, approximate dates, and places that were renamed or redrawn.

  2. Record matching

Help spotting the same person across census, church, immigration and other records, with the reasons laid out so you can judge them.

  3. How it all connects

Help piecing together parents, siblings, spouses and cousins, and flagging the places where a tree rests on thin evidence.

How we're approaching it

Built to earn trust, not to guess.

  1. Evidence first.

A suggestion should come with the records and the reasons behind it, not just a confidence score.

  2. You make the call.

The AI suggests. Nothing should land in your tree unless you put it there.

  3. "Maybe" is an answer.

Family history is full of uncertainty. A good tool says so out loud instead of papering over it.
